Baby swimming with Water Babies is an exciting, enriching experience for both you and your little one. Not only does it teach vital life skills, but it also enhances the way babies and toddlers learn other skills, too. No one else reaches our high standards of professionalism, and no one else works harder to make sure you and your little one feel happy and safe. And we always incorporate lots of bonding, fun and socialising, so you can be sure that a Water Baby is a happy baby!
Classes across Vaughan are run by Alexandra Lawlor. From swimming the Red Cross program as a child, to working as a swim instructor and lifeguard aged 16; and from being an instructor trainer for new swim instructors, to running a swim rehabilitation programme for stroke patients, she literally has a lifetime of swimming behind her. She even set up a swim school with her brother & sister using the pool in her parents’ back yard, where they regularly taught over 200 children to swim over the summer holidays!
It was while working as an aquatics coordinator at the Community Centre that she first came across Water Babies. “When I saw how strong those tiny students were in water, I was intrigued,” she recalls. “I was regularly seeing 2-year-old Water Babies students at the equivalent level of a 4-6-year-old mainstream swimming student, and I wanted to be a part of that.”
Alexandra started working for Water Babies in September 2016, and when she got the chance to run her own classes, she jumped at it. “I think my favourite thing about Water Babies is watching the little ones learn to hold on independently – it’s such an important safety skill, and in all my swimming experience, I’d never seen that happen at such a young age before I found Water Babies.”
Alexandra is joined in the office by the wonderfully enthusiastic Melissa. They’d love to hear from you, so why not give them a call?
